Dutch term

ter fine

Dutch to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
"...en de mogelijkheid betrokkene aan te houden op basis van de Interpolseining van de XXXX autoriteiten ter fine van voorlopige aanhouding met het oog op zijn uitlevering naar XXXX."

Belgian text about the handling of an international arrest warrant.

Can this have something to do with the Belgian use of "finaliteit" (objective)??

Any ideas?
Any references?

TIA

agree writeaway : yup - standard vocabulary, but perhaps what the Germans would call 'gehobene Sprache' ;-) (and with Erik-it's purpose)

for the purpose of

Bron/ref.: geen idee, maar ik heb deze term "ter fine van = for the purpose of" ooit in mijn NL-E glossary gezet - en het lijkt hier te passen.
