Handstitched books are rare, whether ancient or recent - age has nothing to do with it. But I'm sure ti-beck made the correct choice.

As I understand it, this is not about rare books, but about newly made handstitched books.

Since your context is rare books, IMO "brochés" is more appropriate here, but "cousus" is also used (see my link below)
