Outstream video ads are also called native video ads or in-read video ads and can be placed in the content of an article for example. The ad plays either before (pre-roll), during (mid-roll) or after the publisher’s content which is referred to as post-roll.

The video ads will automatically play when the viewer scrolls to them, so they are more organic than instream video because they will pause streaming when the user scrolls past them and then restart again when the video is scrolled over.
