English to Russian Other Medical (general) Obstetrics/gynecology
The end of the second stage of labor (childbirth), when the top of the head of a new baby is already showing out.

To Robert: Thank you. Actually, I know what it is. But how to call this process in Russian?

Drunya Apr 26, 2005:
It is either "vrezyvanie" or "prorezyvanie" - can't check now, but it's definitely one of the two.
Robert Donahue (X) Apr 26, 2005:
It's a medical term Olga. Crowning - To reach a stage in labor when a large segment of the fetal scalp is visible at the vaginal orifice. Used of a fetus or the head of a fetus.
