Welding of lifting lugs, enlargement of holes, or cutting of new holes to facilitate lifts is strictly forbidden unless accepted or
instructed by Transmin personnel.
BEFORE ANY LIFTING, always ensure that lifting equipment is in good condition, approved as certified and suitably rated for
the load. The use of damaged or uncertified equipment could potentially lead to damage of equipment or injury / death of
personnel.
Majority of lifts are simple four point lifts, generally using standard spreader beams and good lifting practices to stop out of
plane bending on the lift lugs.

The ball charging system delivers forged steel balls from two concrete bunkers into the SAG mill and Ball mill process lines to allow grinding of the product ore.
Each system is identical to handle and transfer steel balls from 20ft containers into supplied kibbles that are to be lifted away and feed into the respective mills.
The 20ft containers filled with steel forged balls are lifted and set on the Container Tippers. The tilting platform is moved into position as well as the door holding arms. The operator then unlocks the sea container doors and moves into the safe position where the tilting platform is moved out of position. The latching arms are retracted and the doors are allowed to open and discharge the balls into the concrete bunker.
The balls are then discharged into the kibbles using the transfer chute and charging gate, operated by a pneumatic cylinder. Once full, the kibbles are moved approximately 5m along the length of the rails where it is picked up using the overhead crane.
