The following is an excerpt from a merchandising manual of a maternity clothes store
VII. Press
a) We have ***press*** in house which is coordinated at Head Office in London.
b) We will always call the store in advance to arrange a convenient time for when the stylist can come and choose the stock. Sometimes the Stylst will ask for you to put a selection of stock together and they will send a courier to pick it up.
c) Always record the goods on the system using the Layaway receipt – print two copies, one which you file, the second copy is sent with the goods. Note the name of company the goods are being sent to.
d) Once the goods come back, check that they are all in perfect condition, note that they have been received on the original Layaway receipt, re ticket if necessary and put back into the stock room.

The references below show what press means in this context. I think that if they meant a cupboard for keeping the clothes, or a device for printing or for ironing clothes, they would have said "a press;" So, I don't believe that it is a linen press, printing press, or ironing press.
