yarn dyed

Darek - this is the only suitable term I can think of - it means basically that the single yarns of which the fabric is composed are died, instead of the fabric being printed. This means better colour fastness and is typical with check fabrics, as in your case. I cannot find a specific site to explain this, but you will find lots of sites of manufacturers offering yarn dyed fabric.
