not really household, this is a hanging lamp found in a Mosque. Amongst all these rings& chains (!), how should I call the one that presumably fixes the lamp to the ceiling ?
Ce luminaire, trouvé dans la Grande Mosquée, a été exécuté en bronze coulé. Il épouse la forme d’un plateau circulaire décoré d’ajours. Il est muni de trois anneaux auxquels s’attachent trois chaînes qui se réunissent en une seule, elle-même reliée à une boule portant un anneau de fixation.

If you look to pictures by seraching "hanging lamp" in google images, you'll see that most lamps have a kind of hook or ring through which chains or ropes are attached so that it can hangs.
I then looked for "hanging ring" and though I wasn't able to find one of those rings in a lamp (results show they're used for curtains mainly), I found them pretty similar to those of the lamps. So I guess, it might not be a 100% reliable translation, but I imagine meaning still manages to get through. If we consider this is not a strictly technical text on lamps, I don't think we'd be distorting meaning, at worst we may not be using a 100% technical term.
