I am translating a brochure and am looking for some fresh input from other translators (with artistic expression!) on this small piece for an artist's gallery.
I was mainly looking for alternative ways of expressing '
'songeant à pleine voix' (dreaming at the top of his voice!) but suggestions for the other bits from arty types as this sort of thing gives wide scope for expression! I am happy, if asked, to provide what I already have on my page, but thought it might hamper suggestions if I include it here.
Oh, and, pity I can't offer a prize for the best efforts!

I like your choice.
I like what you propose: "dreaming at the top of his voice." Another possibility might be "dreaming out loud," but this doesn't capture the full meaning of the original "a PLEINE voix"

Thank you, my friend from down under. In all fairness to the others, though, French2English was looking for a "wide scope of expression"... Anyway, I love that phrase from Alfred the Great: it's going to be my new motto in translation!

Although this is a rather loose translation, it fits in with an artist's gallery. I am an artist myself and would use this expression. I hope this helps. :-)

Just because you asked for more ideas, in fact I like your idea best, "dreaming at the top of his voice" is very evocative...
