"Was in den Vorläuferversionen mit Hilfe des komplexen Dialogfeldes Extras einzustellen war, ist nun auf gänzlich anderem Weg zu erreichen:
Abbildung 2: Der neue Weg zu den Optionen. Deren genaue Prüfung ist sehr zu empfehlen!"
Text relates to a newly revised software application. As you can see, the style of writing is pretty informal. I've translated Weg here more or less "method", as in "new method for options" but would this be accurate because the second sentence here refers to checking the options precisely. Is it any clearer to anyone else?

We recommend that you study them carefully
(i.e. "so that you know what options are available" is how I interpret it)
Of course "Options" with a capital O if it is referring to a specific function in the program.

the new path to the options
If "method" does not work for you, maybe new "PATH", as used in computer file systems; the web address?
Example: "When you try to use the Windows Update or Web Help feature of Windows 98, you may receive an error message similar to one of the following messages: The path 'http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com' does not exist or is not a directory. "
