German term
Collaborationplattform
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Computers: Software
Source:
Mit "smartXXX" präsentiert XXX erstmals innovative Lösungen die den gesicherten Zugriff auf gemeinsame Dokumente und Daten sowie deren workflowbasierten Austausch über eine Collaborationplattform ermöglichen.
Target:
For the first time XXX presents with “smartXXX” innovative solutions which ensure/enable the access to shared documents and data as well as its workflow based exchange on a collaboration platform.
Question:
Can I leave it as "collaboration platform" or is there any other common term which should be used in this context?
What would fit better in the target trans. "ensure" or "enable"?

: collaboration is *the* current IT buzzword - saying "cooperation" would just water it down

Hi Friderike, I doubt that term originated in the English language, there is "collaborare" in Italian, afik, it's very similar to Latin;-)

: That's it. / I beg to differ as to the origin. IMHO it's almost 100% certain - at least when seen from a "modern world" perspective - that it originates from EN (EN is *the* software devt. lang., after all). But of course it's derived from Latin.

I would prefer \"enable\" but both are correct
