German term

Referenzini

German to English Medical Mechanics / Mech Engineering
I'm translating the parts specification for a medical parts company's solution bag, and I keep coming across the word "Referenzini". The sentences are only partial, but here are examples:

Coronabehandlung + Verstellung + Absaugung + Strömungswächter
Antriebwalze
Klischeewalze mit Referenzini

Farbkassette mit linearer Zustellung, Endabschalter, Referenzini

Referenzini GEBER gegenüberliegend von Mitnehmerstift montieren

Does anyone know what this is? (It would also be helpful if someone could identify the "GEBER" in that last example in this context).

Discussion

Johannes Gleim May 30, 2018:
@ flaggthecat As eblivov suggested "reference sensor", I like to ask you, what type of "Initiators" the documentation refers to. It could be a transmitter, transducer, encoder, pick-up, sensor, or anything else acc. to the specification.
flaggthecat (asker) May 29, 2018:
@Johannes I wasn't asking a question there, I was responding to philgoddard.
Johannes Gleim May 29, 2018:
@ flaggthecat Nobody can answer the additional question for "bag", unless you specify its subject. That term should be mentioned in the full text anywhere with corresponding context. Please post this question separately.
flaggthecat (asker) May 28, 2018:
I don't know what a solution bag is either, but it's in English on the cover page.
philgoddard May 28, 2018:
Despite its Italian appearance, it's presumably Referenz + INI. Reference initial? Initiator?
I'm not clear what a "solution bag" is.

German term (edited): Referenz-ini (Referenz-Initiator)
Selected

reference transducer

https://dict.leo.org/englisch-deutsch/geber

"Referenzinitiatorgeber" is makes no sense. A "Referenzinitiator” initiates or gives the reference. A "Referenzgeber" gives the reference, too. "Initiator" and "Geber" can be translated both by "transducer" or similar, correspondingly. The Problem is due to errors on the editor’s side.

Transducers can convert all possible physical values and compared to reference transducers. Some examples are shown below, including travel and displacement:

The Rotary Rudder Reference Transducer is a sensor included with many Raymarine SmartPilot core packs, and with the ST60 series rudder system. This device accurately measures the angle of the boat's rudder(s) or outdrives, and sends that information back to the autopilot course computer or rudder angle display. Additionally, many Raymarine multifunction displays and instrument repeaters have the ability to read and display rudder angle information over the SeaTalk navigation network.

If you want to calibrate any type of testing machine, either for quality purposes or to obtain an official calibration certificate, then choose a standard reference transducer. There are two methods which can be used to measure a force with accuracy: ‘dead-weight machines’ or testing machines equipped with a transfer force transducer. The first solution is quite expensive and difficult to operate. The second one is cost-effective and increases your flexibility.

With a reference transducer the actual sonic velocity can be measured. This requires another transducer to be installed in the module, where there may be only limited space or the module dimensions may not be suitable for the reference transducer. A double transducer described in this study eliminates the need for a separate reference transducer because in the double transducer the reference measurement is included in the design of the transducer holder. Two sensors in the same holder require less space. Other advantage is that the double transducer can be placed near the measurement target and hence the local sonic velocity can be determined.

Many measurement devices exist for vibrational analysis. Strain gauges and other equipment capable of transducing mechanical displacement into an electrical signal is often used in structural or non-destructive testing. However, there are many situations where it is impractical to use hardware that requires mechanical contact and/or traction with the surface or interest – notably, when attempting to characterise the transducers themselves.
:
This means transducers may be easily compared to one another, or benchmarked against a ‘knowngood’ reference transducer.

As seen below, "Referenzgeber" is also translated by "reference transducer":

Further examples can easily found in the internet.

Acc. to the broader context (unknown to us), the term "reference sensor" could also be considered, as ebobilov suggested, esp. if the physical value is directly converted into an electrical signal without any transducer. See my entry above "transducer or similar".
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : I don't understand this. Transducer is one translation of Geber, but what about Initiator (assuming that's what Ini means)?

Please see my explication above. "Referenzinitiator" and ""Referenzgeber" are identical.
neutral ebobilov : Initiator = Geber, das ist OK. Aber "transducer" bedeutet "Wandler". Ich würde direkt "sensor" nehmen.

already included in my proposal, see my entries above "transmitter, transducer, encoder, pick-up, sensor, ..." as well as "transducer or similar".

Dies ist nicht der Platz für schleche Scherze auf Kosten anderer. Erinnert mich spontan an Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius: "si tacuisses, philosophus mansisses…"
