German term

mit Prozessdenken auf die Wertschöpfung getrimmt

German to English Marketing Transport / Transportation / Shipping Marketing in the field of logistics IT: software

Thank you very much for any ideas.

Sebastian Witte (asker) Sep 2, 2014:
Hi Andrew Swift Good morning. Your agreement is intended to entertain the community and be funny, right? I like that one. You made my day with that one. Excellent (I'm not being ironic right now, I really did laugh out loud when reading it). Remarking that turning the German construction around is often the way to go for a translator and then basically saying the same thing a second time around, this time with a different sentence structure ...
Sebastian Witte (asker) Sep 1, 2014:
Unfortunately, I have only a draft version at this point: The chain from the raw materials up to the point of the goods reaching the end customer needs to be consistently designed so as to implement value creation considerations by focusing on enhancing the internal processes.

to apply/adopt a process-driven approach to maximise value

My draft (turning this sentence around):
To maximise value, a process-driven approach needs to be applied/adopted consistently across/along the (entire) chain from raw materials to end clients/customers/users.

... or 'to add value' instead of 'to maximise value'.
Note from asker:
I prefer the version that reads "To add value, a ...".

agree Lancashireman : Turning the German round is often a good solution. In fact, the best solution is often to turn the German construction round.

to apply processes fine-tuned to value creation

while I like your own translation above, it appears a bit long to me. I presume you asked the question as you were not really happy with the translation.

geared towards value creation through a relentless focus on processes

'The chain from raw materials to finished product must be consistently geared towards value creation through a relentless focus on processes.'

Compare with quote below:

"The goal of the process enterprise is to create customer value by relentless focus on processes..."

It seems that no attention at all has been paid to the verb phrase ’trimmen auf’..!

Not sure we can afford that. I attempted to address this aspect with “relentless focus on’...
