A barrique is a special kind of barrel, so I don't think that rodchop's answer quite hits the nail on the proverbial.

: a barrique is a special kind of barrel, so I don't think that just saying barrles is enough. Now there are also plastic barrels, but the idea of barrique wines is that they take some of their flavor from the barrles themselves
