From a histology manual. Seems to be a solution used for antigen unmasking, but can't find anything on google etc.

Has anyone used this solution or know what it might be? Doesn't even appear to be a trade name.

That changes things slightly as it seems to refer to the type of solution. Is the text an original Italian text or could it have been translated (incorrectly) from another language at some point? As you said there are no online refs for this phrase ...
