This is from a short report describing a clinical trial of denture adhesive paste.
Geriatric patients were given several pastes and clinical signs were recorded. The patients were also asked to complete QOL questionnaires and other more specifically dental questionnaires in addition to marking their comfort/discomfort on a VAS.

Not sure what this term refers to - the VAS markings perhaps?
Suggestions welcome.

Basically, it means pictures. Here I suppose it's referring to dental X-rays.
