Japanese term

知の時代

Japanese to English Law/Patents Law: Patents, Trademarks, Copyright new technology
I would like to know how you say 知の時代 in English. This term is used often in the context of intellectual property.
for example, "知の時代にふさわしい技術移転のあり方."

Knowledge based economy

This term is more to do with industry and economy than the historical time frame (so using age and time is not required?).
The things economy was based on used to be industrial (ability to convert physical material to products, manufacturing).
Now ability to conver knowledge to products(media, software) is more important. So I use "Knowledge based economy"

The times of intellect

There were the times of power and the times of money. Now we are in the times of intellect.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Kurt Hammond : This does not sound natural. Perhaps "Age" instead of "times". . .

Intelligence Age

This is rather a vgue term, but I don't think it means the same thing as 情報の時代 (Information Age).

Don't feel that you have to translate this term directly into English. Japanese authors always seem to be going on about the latest なんとかの時代, but westerners don't use this sort of phrase anywhere near as often.

Check the Google link for a few more alternatives.
Peer comment(s):

disagree sumc : This may not fit into the "context of intellectual property" concerned here. For me, the "intelligence age" sounds more of a political term, involving intelliegent agencies such as CIA.

age of knowledge

Just another way to say it as a 直訳、although, it is more common in English to say "Information age".

agree sumc : "The Knowledge Age" has 42,000 hits. (I hid my original answer "information age." Kurt-san has a more proper comment for the term.)
