REI stands for "Résistance", "Etanchéité" and "Isolation", which are expressions used in European standard EN1634. In Eurospeak the Eng translations are "load-bearing capacity", "integrity" and "insulation". A wall, door or other structure which is rated REI 120 must therefore retain its load-bearing qualities, integrity and insulation for 120 minutes. |
