trailing axle Explanation: Non articulated coaches over a certain length must be equipped with an actively steered rear axle known as a trailing axle. This greatly improves agility and considerably reduces the turning cicle. The third axle is also steered when reversing, making it far easier to manoeuvre while reducing tyre wear in the process.
