QT interval prolongation OR: prolongation of the QT interval
This is a serious error that cannot be allowed to stand. "Expansion" and "prolongation" do not mean the same thing, and there is only one example of "expansion of the QT interval," which is a translation!
Definition of QT interval prolongation:
QT interval prolongation is an irregularity of the electrical activity of the heart that places patients at risk for ventricular arrhythmias.
Serious complications of drug-induced QT interval prolongation are rare; the identification of patients at risk may help to prevent these events.

200,000 refs for "QT prolongation interval" and another 187,000 for "prolongation of QT interval."

Note from asker:
Your're right Muriel I'm not comfortable with your attitude and comments, however rhandler backed up his references and I didn't need 187,000 of them; just one. Also the synonoms for expansion are: extension, spreading out and opening out. To me that's the same as prolongation. |

: 187,000 correct refs vs 1 incorrect - never heard of "expansion of the QT interval" by the way, but then again we didn't have internet when I was at medical school ;-)
