Comment: "Все, абсолютно все ответы мне пригодились и рассмотрены с заслуживающим того вниманием. Выбрать победителя было трудно. Без субъективизма обойтись было трудно. Но основания выбора такие: раз есть (и в обильном количестве употребляемое "в среде") простое название, то warum nicht? Тем более, что мне оно нужно было в простом письме "для чайников", а не в научном труде. Так что кудозы отправляются в Канаду. It works as follows:
A built-in scanner reads an original image.
