"Accidente de tránsito (choque por alcance con consecuencias fatales, heridos y daños materiales considerables) entre los vehículos XXX de placa BBBB y XXX de placa BBBB"
Por la descripción de los hechos parece que uno de los vehículos al tratar de alcanzar al otro perdió el control y lo chocó, dejando heridos y muertos, es decir al tratar de alcanzarlo se produjo el accidente.
Estoy tratando de expresar la idea en inglés, pero hasta ahora sólo se me ocurre algo como "collision when trying to pass..." y seguramente hay mejores formas de decirlo.
