Let's stick with your first instinct then. :)
Huw Watkins May 30, 2007:
My first thought was cesión, my second situación - so maybe you shouldn't be thanking me afterall :)
Sherry Godfrey (asker) May 30, 2007:
Thanks so much Huw! Checked with the client..you're right, it does pertain to "cesion".
Huw Watkins May 30, 2007:
asesoramiento - is translatable as advice/consultancy also
Huw Watkins May 30, 2007:
PS please forgive typos :)
Huw Watkins May 30, 2007:

Huw Watkins May 30, 2007:
I'm leaning more towards cesión personally. Here is what i think the sentence is: "The transfer of data was carried out (although future would make more sense here ie shall be carried out - se realizará) in such a way that the portfolio manager manages
Sherry Godfrey (asker) May 30, 2007:
Hello Huw. Now looking at it, I'm thinking 'finalidades': "con la finalidad de que.....o las que sean necesarias o preceptivas." perhaps?
Huw Watkins May 30, 2007:
I'm trying to work out why necesarias and preceptivas (mandatory) are in the feminine. I can't see what they agree with - maybe 'situación' maybe even 'cesión'?

shall be both necessary and compulsory/mandatory

The "both" is my suggested stress word. You may want to omit it.
