I was brought up and educated in Ireland (M.A.. H. Dip.Ed. Trinity College Dublin) but have spent most of my working life in Denmark, where I worked until four years age as an alcohol and narcotics consultant in the public service. I am therefore familar with the public service and administration in Denmark and have done much translation over a wide field - most recently in Artic Research for The Research Council in Denmark. My skills are those of a thorough and sensitive translator, loyal to the tone and rhythm of the language translating into my mother tongue. Like many of my countrymen I can boast (modestly)of an excellent command of our adopted language!
I am an Arts graduate from TCD and have worked in the fields on education and the social services. I have particular experience in the areas of alcohol and drug abuse as well as in the prevention of these.I am widely interested in Danish society and in Danish style, that which usde to be called Danish Design, and I have translated for a wide range of publications in the design and architecture fields, as well as in such diverse areas as tourism and public transport |
