I am a professional translator/interpreter with eight year's experience as a freelancer.

I have a languages degree from the University of Oxford (French/German) and a law degree. Moreover, in 1998 I qualified as a solicitor in the UK with Slaughter and May, a large international law firm based in the City of London, where I worked in the firm’s banking, general corporate, tax, litigation and EU departments in both London and Brussels.

Upon qualification as a lawyer in 1998, I however decided that it was not the career for me. Since then worked as a freelance translator. Due to my legal background, I have tended in that time to focus mainly on translations of a legal and commercial nature (contracts, legal opinions, prospectuses, corporate documentation, court documents etc.).

As a UK-qualified lawyer, I deliver translations which are not only sound linguistically, but also in terms of the law and specialised substantive terminology they contain. I also bring a qualified lawyer's attention to detail to bear on every translation I do.

I have now added Czech to my language combination and am currently resident in the Czech Republic (although I do retain a bank account in the UK for payment purposes).
