» Translating Gender from English to Persian

Abstract The general aim of translation is to communicate between two languages. In this regard, translators face some problems that are due to the existence of differences in source language (SL) and target language (TL). One of these differences relates to grammar. One of the issues in grammar is gender and the effect of it on a sentence. First, this paper overviews gender among languages next considers gender in Persian and English in specific and last considers the impact of gender on translation process from English to Persian.
