Yesterday I noticed that two contributions to a KudoZ thread I was following had disappeared. They had both been posted by the same contributor, and were supporting an answer that turned out to be wrong. They were an 'agree' and a Discussion Entry.
I can't see how that is possible unless the ProZ moderators do it. You can edit your own contributions but there doesn't seem to be any way of removing them entirely.
Or do you need 'friends in high places'?

KudoZ participants can remove their own discussion entries and peer comments
Jan 19, 2010
Hello Peter,
Please note that KudoZ discussion entries as well as peer comments can be removed by posters by clicking on the small "X" next to them. Thus, posts in KudoZ questions may not necessarily be removed by staff or moderators as a result of rules violation but by posters themselves too.
Hope this explains.
Regards,
Lucia

It's called "Hide answer"

At the bottom of the answer panel. It requires something to be entered in a "reason" box. Then click OK and you will be asked "Are you sure?" Click OK again and the answer will be shown on the answerer's own screen grayed out, but weill be invisible to everyone else.

that if you have made a misjudgement or an error you can remove it so that it will not remain on the thread for ever. It might be a bit embarrassing if the thread is looked up by a potential customer or a peer years later and they see that you supported something which is patently wrong (but which you didn't know at the time). So it's nice toi know that you can delete your erroneous contribution.

Another possibility for using this option is when there has been a heated discussion on a topic and you have said something which you afterwards regret (perhaps because it was a personal comment on a peer). Here, too, the option allows you to rectify this rash and misguided action.
Obvuiously one shouldn't rely too much on being able to do this sort "editing" and instead should think carefully before posting !! ▲ Collapse
