I just stumbled on to omega a few days ago, and down loaded it.I need a simple tutorial for it. The one I downloaded : translation_memory_training_course , is ambiguous and seems daunting, I would like something practical, Any suggestions or help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. PS. My language pairs are Arabic English , Urdu English , Arabic Urdu. | | | Samuel Murray הולנד Local time: 05:23 חבר (2006) מאנגלית לאפריקאנס + ... Terjumaan, I recommend that you begin with the OmegaT for Beginners tutorial, which as its name indicates is intended for beginners. The translation_memory_training_course document you have downloaded is intended for trainers on OmegaT training courses, not for end users. There is a link to the OmegaT for Beginners tutorial on this page: www.omegat.org/en/documentation.html The Instant Start tutorial, which is displayed automatically in OmegaT when OmegaT is launched, is also a good introduction. If your system is set to English, you can also open the Instant Start tutorial in Arabic in a text editor. Find your OmegaT installation on your hard drive, then open the file ..\docs\ar\instantStartGuideNoTOC.html. Since you work with bidirectional languages, read the relevant section in the user manual (from within OmegaT: Help > Users manual > Files to translate > Right to left languages). You will probably find it easier if you begin experimenting with translations from Arabic into English (since this is one of your combinations) rather than into Arabic or Urdu; once you are more familiar with how OmegaT works, you can move on to translations into Arabic and Urdu.
