French term

prises de terre auxiliaires

French to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng safety testing

thanks

Why did you not choose it? IEC, International Electrical Commission is the only competent international organization for standardization of electrical terms.

disagree Johannes Gleim : not the official terminology, as standardized by IEC // see http://www.electropedia.org/iev/iev.nsf/display?openform&iev... Otherweise look for electropedia at Google.

I looked on the IEC glossary website and didn't come up with anything. Can you post the link?

auxiliary groundings / grounding rods

“auxiliary grounding” means an additional grounding connected to a main grounding; (“prise de terre auxiliaire”)

Not sure it's very reliable but gets quite a few ghits compared to the other suggested answer (1 ghit).
Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : I would say 'ground' rather than 'grounding' here (for US), and they may or may not involve actual 'grounding rods'

Thanks Tony - had you gone to ground when the question was asked?
