I assume the question means "does it affect my family/home life NEGATIVELY". In that case, no. However, it does have a POSITIVE effect insofar as it is my livelihood, and allows me to pay my bills. I sowed my wild oats years ago, so am no longer bothered about not socialising so much these days.

Positive or negative effect? Nov 10, 2021

I don't see a negative impact in my personal/family life. On the contrary, the fact that I can work from home and be part of most of my children's activities is a great, positive impact.

No such thing Nov 10, 2021

Q. "Do you feel your work affects your family life or home life?"

A. I don't have either. I live alone. Happily. Having tried many times, unsuccessfully, to live with other people. Solitude is the only way to really be yourself. Joyfully. (Although I do have a cat).

Of course it does Nov 10, 2021

It's funny that some people voted "no", unless they live alone.
I realize sometimes I have to work some extra hours, sometimes I'm not able to go to that family meeting, concert, or happy hour thing. And sometimes, I do not give as much attention as I should to the people around me (even the dogs), because I'm too concentrated in an urgent job.
So, if you live all by yourself, it's OK to vote "no". Otherwise, wake up and realize how you relate to the people around you. It's importan

Not going to lie, some people had accused me of being a terrorist simply because I prefer to spend my time alone reading books, playing games, messing around with computers, or listening to classical music. I'm not the type to hang out with people or have some small, pointless talks for hours. If you're offended with that then, well... too bad.

Of course it does! It means I'm financially independent, which is vital to well-being. If I were dependent on my partner our relationship dynamic would be very unhealthy!

Sometimes I have to work while the rest of the family is having fun, but I usually manage to join in the activities I'm interested in.

I live alone and enjoy my own company - but that also means I'm gregarious and like the company of others.

That is why I don't let work influence my family life. I don't work extra hours and I don't plan or accept any work when I have social plans. I would rather earn a bit less and enjoy my social life. People are different - what is true for Mario Freitas may not be true for everyone else.

It's a matter of choice Nov 10, 2021

The company of others is always more enjoyable when it's a choice, not something forced on you. And I would be a lot more gregarious if people wouldn't make me feel like there must be something wrong with me because THEY can't distinguish between solitude and loneliness.

I work from home, and work doesn't merely "affect" my home life - it's a vital part of it. I don't distinguish between the two.

So "Other".
