I\'m just starting out and based on my background would like to try Italian to English IT related translations. Is there much of a market for this language pair in IT? I see lots of opportunities out of English but not so many into English. Would it be worth learning another specialism perhaps? Any advice welcome!

IT (computers, not Italian) is a very bad market at the moment, and not just for translators. Not only are cheap countries moving in, also many non-IT translators take whatever they can get in these though times.

As for learning a new specialism - I don\'t really believe you can \"learn\" specialisms, you either spend 4 or so years in

As for learning a new specialism - I don\'t really believe you can \"learn\" specialisms, you either spend 4 or so years in University or on the job to learn a specialism (but other people have different opions about that)
